Barristers can offer much more than legal expertise
Barristers are valued for their specialist legal services but clients are starting to expect more.
This could come in the form of more data-driven insights, prompter service, and forward-thinking advocacy.
“How can barristers help with this? By embracing technology and by encouraging more efficient processes. This is in all of our interests to ensure that the English civil justice system not only retains integrity, but remains world-leading.” - Iain Quirk, KC Essex Court Chambers

Our survey of barristers found:
- Barristers want to implement new technology faster
- Only 10% believe their legal practice is fast or very fast at implementing new technology
- Many want to respond quicker to change
- Three-fifths of organisations are adequate, slow or very slow at responding to change
- To stay competitive, your clients will need: cost effectiveness, responsiveness & agility, and specialist legal expertise
- Lack of tech investment will cause people to leave
- One in 10 barristers said they would consider leaving if their organisation didn’t invest in AI
