DBT publish second progress report on Economic Crime Act implementation

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has published its second annual progress report on the implementation of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA) 2023. The report outlines the enactment of over 20 statutory instruments and details new enforcement actions by Companies House, including 82,600 registered office address changes and 419 penalty warning notices. The report sets out implementation milestones through to end-2026, including mandatory identity verification from autumn 2025 and complete limited partnership reforms by end-2026. Companies House reports identifying £50m in UK property linked to organised crime through enhanced powers.

Four more banks endorse ICC Principles for Sustainable Trade Finance

Commerzbank, ING, Santander, and Standard Chartered have announced their endorsement of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Principles for Sustainable Trade Finance. The Principles aim to set out clear, transparent and consistent guidelines to enable banks, corporates and investors to effectively channel capital towards sustainable and inclusive trade finance facilities.

ISDA launches pre-adherence for new digital notices platform

The International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) has introduced a pre-adherence process for its new Notices Hub platform, which is scheduled to launch on 15 July 2025. Managed by S&P Global Market Intelligence, the platform will revolutionise the delivery of termination notices and waivers under ISDA master agreements by enabling firms to submit these documents digitally, thereby replacing the current requirement for physical delivery. A complimentary protocol will update existing agreements between adhering parties to facilitate the platform's use. While the service will be free for buy-side firms, dealers will benefit from two-year discounted rates if they adopt the platform early.

IFRS Foundation publishes jurisdictional profiles to document adoption progress of ISSB Standards

The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation has published 17 jurisdictional profiles detailing global progress on adoption of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (ISSB Standards). The profiles reveal that 14 jurisdictions have committed to fully adopting the ISSB Standards, two aim to adopt the climate-specific requirements, and one plans to partially incorporate the standards. Complementing these profiles are 16 additional snapshots that provide an overview of regulatory approaches still to be finalised. Designed to enhance transparency for capital markets and serve as an authoritative reference for stakeholders, these profiles underscore significant global alignment with the ISSB Standards.
